How to sell at Nyborgs

Nyborgs offers the sale of your objects via Live Auctions from April 2025 and via online auctions later this year. We make the sales process simple and efficient and make every effort to achieve the highest possible price for your objects.

Nyborgs Auctions is a new auction house, but with experts and staff with extensive experience from both the auction and art industry in Norway and internationally. Our experts provide you with personalized advice and the best customer care in the sales process. Nyborgs has offices in Oslo and Bergen, but also goes on expert trips to other cities in Norway.

Valuation, Filing and Sales Agreement

Start Valuation

Nyborgs will provide valuations on your objects digitally or physically, at your home or in our office.

If it is appropriate to sell the object at one of our Live Auctions, we need you to submit the object at our office in Oslo or Bergen. We can also arrange for the object to be picked up from you or transported to us.

If an expert is available and has time when the object is submitted, we will issue a sales agreement immediately. If you or someone else delivers the object to us and an expert is not available, you will be sent a submission receipt which is also a proof of insurance as long as the object is with us. Once an expert has assessed the object and it is appropriate to sell it at one of our auctions, you will be sent a sales agreement by email following the submission.

2.

Preparing for auction

Once the sale agreement is signed, we will prepare the object for auction. Experts with us quality-ensure all information about the object and create catalog descriptions and other information to be published about the object.

The object is then photographed by a professional photographer, so that the object should look as attractive as possible to potential buyers. Some objects will also be included in environmental images used in marketing the objects.

3.

Marketing, conducting auction and settlement

The objects are published for viewing on nyborgs.no approximately 10 days before the Live auction. 3-5 days before the auction we also hold a physical display of the objects, for potential stakeholders.

When the objects are published we will also start active promotion of the auction and objects nationally and internationally. We also expect it to be informed about the auctions and about some of the most attractive objects in the media. We also use our network to promote individual objects to potential buyers who have expressed interest in similar objects.

The live auction will be streamed online at Nyborgs.no. On desktop or iPad you can watch and hear the auctioneer review the bidding round live, while on mobile you will only hear the auctioneer. As you watch and hear the auctioneer you will be able to see the bids ticking in online. Buyers at the auction can place pre-bids or bid Live online or by phone when the object is auctioned.

You will receive the settlement for the sale 4-6 weeks after the auction is completed, as long as the buyer has paid the amount. Otherwise, please see our Terms of Sale.
