How to buy at auction

Buying at a Live Auction should be safe, easy and at the same time exciting.

Buying at Classic Live Auction

What most people associate with a classic auction, as auctions have been going on for centuries, is that an auctioneer stands in a hall, objects to be auctioned off are carried out one by one and bidders sit in the hall and bid on the objects with a “bidding shovel”.

With new technology, this form of auction has changed so that the auction reaches more stakeholders and the experience for bidders has become safer, more flexible and more discreet. At our Live Auctions, there are no bidders in the hall, but people follow along digitally online, where Live video shows the auctioneer clubbing the objects, while bidders bid online or by phone with Nyborgs employees.

In this way, you get a bit of the classic experience in that the entire auction takes place Live, while at the same time you can sit at home and watch on your computer or follow along on mobile if you are on the go.

1.

Viewing the Objects

When buying an object it is important that you take the time to read and study the information we have written about the object. We always take professional photos of the object from several angles, as well as having our experts write a catalog description of each object. If there are injuries that you should know about, we also write about it under notice.

The valuation is done by our experts and reflects the market price we believe the object is worth. Of course, even if we have given a value interval, it may also happen that the estimate will be lower or higher, depending on demand.

We post the objects online approximately 10 days before the Live Auction.

Furthermore, we have physical display of the objects approximately 3-4 days before the auction. Experts from Nyborg will be present here.

If you have any questions about the objects, you can also always contact us by email or phone.

2.

Bidding

At Nyborgs Live Auctions you can bid in 3 different ways, pre-bid, live bid or telephone bid.

Pre-bid
Live Bids
Telephone bidding
Advance bid
3.

Payment and handover of purchased object

If you have received the winning bid for an object, you will be sent an invoice from us the following day. The invoice must then be paid and the deposit arrived at us before the object can be picked up.
If you pick up the item at our office, you can also pay this with a debit card.

The object that you have purchased can be picked up at our office in Oslo the day after the auction (from 2pm) and the days ahead.

We can also arrange delivery or transportation.
